REDS Woodville
won the toss and sent the opposition in, where a couple of early wickets saw them
3/18 with excellent fielding and a very good run out. A 100 run
partnership looked set for a large total by the opposition, however a very
good spell of bowling from Ryan Thomson (4/22), Andrew Maindment
(3/20) and Luke Francesca (2/14) restricted the opposition to 155. An
excellent 100 plus partnership between Sachan Kapoor (55 runs) and Luke Francesca (65) set up the run
chase and another partnership by Kyran Burgess (32no) and William Atherton (11no)
ensured a well deserved victory at 4/176. |
WHITES Prospect
batting first made 4/149 after their 40 overs. Hakke, Smith,
Parsons and Conway with 1 wicket each.
Unfortunately a continual fall of wickets saw the Whites all out for
around 99. |

WHITES Batting
first the boys finished at 9/130, best with the bat Jayden Harrison (49),
Alex Tate (22) & Ben Hutton (19).
In a great effort the boys bowled out Prospect for 124. Jenke (2/16), |

GREEN This
team is our younger under 13 side which played on st
clair no1 turf wicket. With Woodville batting first
it was the Port Districts bowlers who were on top and Woodville were in
trouble at 6/6. Jayden Harrison scored
a fantastic 52(no) to steer the side to 9/91 from the 30 overs. Port
districts made 8/104 from their 30 overs with M.Attaliotis
2/9, S.Foggarty 2/8 and K.Economou
the best of the bowlers. It was
very pleasing to see the team bonding together and their spirit is fantastic. |
GOLD Port
won the toss and elected to field. A strong batting
display from J.Murdoch (42no),
M. Vesantin (38n.o), T. Economou (24) and H. Mackinnon (22no)
enabled Woodville to finish at 9/171 after the allocated 30 overs. Port with an equal display of good batting
passed our total and finished 7/188 after 30 overs. M.Tanner 2/6, H.McKinnon 2/7 and D.Economou
2/19 bowled very well. Special highlight of the
match was a towering six which was unfortunately dropped by a recent life
member, former coach, player and club stalwart . The
crowd and young players enjoyed this. (young Mitch Tanner should remind him to use his keeping
gloves.) A very enjoyable match
with over 350 runs scored from 60 overs from both teams. |
